On Tuesday, reports claimed that Mislintat is set to leave Arsenal having spent just 14 months as the club’s head of recruitment.
The German, who joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in November 2017, is understood to be unhappy with his position at the club and is not working cohesively with director of football Raul Sanllehi.
Mislintat was heavily involved in Arsenal’s recruitment of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Matteo Guendouzi.
But according to the BBC, Arsenal’s inability to spend money on transfer fees during the January window has ’caused issues’ with Mislintat.
It’s also claimed that Emery and Sanllehi are the key drivers behind Arsenal’s efforts to sign Suarez from Barcelona, while Mislintat has alternative midfield targets.
Arsenal and Barcelona have been in talks over a deal for Suarez this month but the Gunners can only sign the 25-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season.
Emery remains a huge admirer of Suarez having worked with the midfielder for one season at Sevilla.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are open to allowing Suarez to leaving on loan but will insist on an €20 million (£17.8m) option to buy in the deal.
