‘Sport brings us together’: Wheelchair tennis player Stewart Sherman | Invictus Games

Stewart Sherman joined the Australian Army in 2000 as a Combat Medic and medically discharged in 2013.

During Sherman’s career he was posted to 1CSSB (Combat Services Support Battalion), 1RAR (Royal Australian Regiment), 2CDO (2 Commando Regiment), SOER (Special Operations Engineer Regiment) and Randwick Health Centre.

He was then deployed to the Solomon Islands and Afghanistan with Delta Company 1RAR.

The Invictus Games is an international adaptive sports event for wounded, injured and ill veteran and serving defence members.

Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 and is the patron of the Invictus Games Foundation.

The Invictus Games uses sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation for wounded soldiers to overcome physical, emotional and mental challenges.
